What a beautifull day
What a beautiful experience! What a marvelous place, impeccable organization, delicious meals, nice hot weather and an absolutely fun time.
This may sound more like a depiction of paradise rather than a simple concise account of the Young European Naturist Gathering at Le Betulle Club in La Cassa (in the Turin Province).
Finally we Italians made up a large group of about 16, which is actually small when compared to the groups of other European countries, even considering it took place in “at home” in Italy.

Nonetheless the group was larger than at other gatherings in the past few years.
We arrived Wednesday afternoon and were warmly greeted at the Reception by Gianfranco Ribolzi. Then we went straight to the tent plots where, in the spirit of naturism and adventure, we started to build our small camp of eight tents.
After that we took a nice dive into the pool, as tradition would have it. The evening proceeded with dinner getting to know each other from the various groups: the Dutch, Germans, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Swiss, Austrian and others.
Within a very short time the delightful rapport and sense of friendship enabled the excellent outcome of the various activities we did together. In the morning the Gathering was presented and officially opened by the Mayor of La Cassa, the Head of Police of the City of Turin, the entire staff of Le Betulle and our great FENAIT president Gianfranco Ribolzi.","They presented the event and welcomed all the participants.
After the meeting all types of sports activities could be pursued, with the availability of tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, ping pong tables, 5-player football fields. We took a swim in the pool, which also has a solarium and a Jacuzzi, to start the gathering in a most relaxing manner. In the afternoon a class was given on Body Painting and we got the opportunity for hands-on practice of the art. The class drew many students and it was a load of fun.
The evening was filled with music, dancing and lots of laughter. On Friday a guide accompanied us to visit the city of Turin. We traveled there on a coach escorted by the Municipal Police on motorcycles. What an exciting procession!
Who knows what onlookers were thinking, maybe that the coaches were transporting VIPs? Hah, they may have been surprised to know we were young naturists from all over Europe. In the afternoon we visited the Cinema Museum is housed in the Mole Antonelliana and took the elevator to the top to admire the panorama of the city and the Alps in the background. Then we got back into the coaches and headed back to the club. We could not wait to dive into the pool again after a day under the city sun. We enjoyed another evening of music interspersed with light-hearted games of tennis and ping-pong.
On Saturday there were several tournaments in which the various nationalities challenged each other in various different sports disciplines. There were swim competitions, volleyball matches, ping-pong and water polo.
Italy was the master of ceremonies. Wow! “And the winner is... the Italian team!”. The day continued with sunny skies and games in the pool, topped off by a Hawaiian soiree with live music by a talented band. Everyone danced and we had boatloads of fun… but all things must pass, even beautiful things.
So Sunday came and we were a bit sad to have to say goodbye. We exchanged cell phone numbers, email addresses and sms nicknames. The heads of each group held a short meeting to decide where the next gathering would be held: Hamburg. We had one last swim in the pool and then the departures began. It was such a fantastic experience, well organized… and blessed by good weather.
So I would like to thank the Betulle and its staff. We will see you soon for another gathering. Long live our freedom!
